The Immunisation Certification Course centres on competence and theory. Nurses and midwives must be working in a clinical field to enrol in the course.
What qualifications do I need to give immunisations?
Hospital nurses, midwives and nurses working in GP practices
You are required to have knowledge of the immunisation and its side effects, however there are moves nationally for all nurse and midwives to have an immunisation certificate.
Nurse Practitioner, Community Nurses, School nurses and Child Health Nurses
Nurse practitioners working independently, community nurses, school nurses and child health nurses must be immunisation competent.
