Nursing and midwifery in Western Australia

Senior Registered Nurse classification process

The Nursing and Midwifery Office supports the State Classification Review Committee to review nursing and midwifery positions submitted for classification and reclassification.

The role of the Chief Nurse and Midwifery Officer is to ensure the work value of the positions equates with the role and job description, and consistency is applied in decision making across the State. Additionally it is important to review the decision in relation to possible flow on effects across the state.

It is important that those nurses and midwives wishing to submit their position for reclassification have the support of their manager and endorsement of their local Classification Review Committee prior to submission to the State Classification Review Committee.
