Helen Bailey Scholarship

The Department of Health of Western Australia established the Helen Bailey Scholarship in 1971 in honour and recognition of Miss Helen Bailey’s remarkable contribution to the advancement of nurse education in Western Australia.

This scholarship is offered annually to assist nurses/midwives to undertake or complete nursing/midwifery research at a masters or doctoral level at a Western Australian university.

$15,000 will be awarded to the successful applicant.

Applicants must:

  • be currently registered as a nurse with the Nurses and Midwives Board of Western Australia
  • be currently working within the Western Australian public health sector
  • have a demonstrated level of commitment to working in Western Australia
  • have evidence of two years post registration experience
  • be an Australian citizen or permanent resident of Australia
