Nursing and Midwifery Office Grants

The Nursing and Midwifery Office (NMO) offers a grant for financial assistance for participants of the following programs:

Application forms for the grant are only available once you have been formally offered a place in forementioned programs. Conditions for eligibility:

  1. All recipients must be Australian citizens or Australian permanent residents.
  2. The grant is subject to participants successfully completing the program and then working in a Western Australian public hospital setting for a minimum of 12 months on completion of the program. These positions can be full-time or part-time, not casual.
  3. Applicant cannot receive any payment such as wages, annual leave, long service leave or payments from any government department during the period they intend to undertake the program.
  4. Applicants who have received a grant of financial assistance from NMO within the previous twelve (12) months are not eligible for a second grant.
  5. Grant of financial assistance application must be submitted prior to commencement of the program.
  6. Applicants are responsible for any tax liability related to the grant.
  7. Applicants agree to complete a grant and employment survey, and provide employment contract as proof of meeting the grant conditions.
  8. If the applicant does not complete the course or adhere to the agreed conditions, WA Health requires the participant to repay all (or part) of the grant of financial assistance.
