Fremantle Hospital
Fremantle Hospital is a large tertiary and teaching hospital located 16 kilometres south of Perth’s CBD in the port city of Fremantle.
Nursing staff have access to a suite of postgraduate learning opportunities offered in conjunction with Curtin University, Edith Cowan University and the University of Notre Dame including a Post Graduate Diploma in Perioperative Nursing and Postgraduate Certificates in: Clinical Nursing; Critical Care; Emergency and Renal Nursing. Other programs such as a hyperbaric nursing and respiratory course are run annually in-house.
The nurse support networks within the hospital encourage the development of future leaders from within their own ranks.
In addition to the range of clinical specialty areas offered, Fremantle Hospital houses the only public hyperbaric unit in metropolitan Perth. It is also easily accessible by public transport and the hospital is within walking distance of markets, cafes and shops.
The hospital’s services are located across two campuses, the main campus in Fremantle and Kaleeya Hospital in East Fremantle. The main campus is 7.6 hectares in size. Overall the hospital has 487 multi and same day beds, including 56 mental health beds. We employ approximately 1500 nurses and 400 medical staff.
Fremantle Health Service also manages the Rottnest Island Nursing Post.
