Women and Newborn Health Service is situated on several sites within and near the Central Business District of Perth, Western Australia. The health service consists of King Edward Memorial Hospital, Breast Screen WA, Sexual Assault Referral Centre, Mother and Baby Unit and the State-wide Obstetric Service Unit.

King Edward Memorial Hospital (KEMH) is the only tertiary referral centre for obstetrics, gynaecology, gynaecology oncology and neonatology in Western Australia. It is located in Subiaco, 4km west of Perth.

KEMH has 300 beds including 100 neonatal cots and employs 646 midwifery and nursing staff and 155 medical staff. The total number of staff employed within the Women and Newborn Health Service 1656.

The Women and Newborn Health Service is home to the largest neonatal intensive care unit in the southern hemisphere with 80 – 100 cots at KEMH and 25 at Princess Margaret Hospital. The health service has the only neonatal retrieval and transport service in Western Australia and inpatient treatment centre for acute perinatal psychiatric conditions.
